Icing Fake Baked

Good evening all of my lovely readers! How how your day been so far? I'm usually way more depressed on Monday, but today is different because it's two days until Halloween!!!! YES!!!! Halloween is my all time favorite holiday...I just love everything about it! As I'm typing this I am watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show (my favorite October tradition). I actually just finished doing the Time Warp so I could write this blog! Hehehe! If you have never seen that movie you need to check it out! Onto nail polish - today's polish of choice is Icing Fake Baked. I found this at the store a couple of weeks ago and had to have it because it is SO Halloween-y and I don't have any polish that is just black and orange.

Fake Baked is an orange glitter polish in a black base. I layered one coat of this over a black base coat. I'm a pretty big fan of base coats, but this is easily opaque without one. The formula was a bit goopy and took a little bit longer to dry, as polishes like this usually do. The best trick is to use thinner coats so it dries more quickly.

Another thing I love about Icing is that their polishes are always BOGO 50% off. Not to mention, they had a special sale on glitter polishes, so I ended up getting 3 polishes for $9! Whoop whoop! Love wearing glitter polishes, but hate taking them off? Don't forget to check out my tip for EASY glitter polish removal here

P.S. If you have never seen the Time Warp, I have attached the video here for your viewing pleasure!

Dollish Polish This Is Halloween Collection Picks

Happy Sunday! Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. I have been super busy with work and doing things around the apartment. The usual blah things! But, I have been swatching a bunch - just haven't gotten anything posted! :o) Today I have the three polishes that I got from the Dollish Polish This Is Halloween Collection. I bought a grab bag of three of these polishes from Overall Beauty. She basically gave you a deal and it was cheaper than buying 3 of them separately. The only catch to it was that I didn't know which polishes I was getting. Luckily, I got 2 out of the 3 that I requested! Wahoo!

First up is This Is Halloween. This polish has small green, orange and black glitter. I had a little bit of an application issue because the polish was kind of goopy. However, it has a ton of glitter, so that was great! This is two coats of This Is Halloween over Orly Fresh. When I ordered these I actually thought this was going to be my favorite out of the collection, but it is actually my third choice out of the three I received. Of course, that's not saying anything bad because these polishes are AWESOME.

Next is Spectral Pup. This polish has orange and white hex and square glitter...and the best part is that it glows in the dark!!! I seriously loooooove this polish. I actually did not request this one in my grab bag, but I am super happy that it is all mine! I did notice that those big, awesome white square glitters tended to sink to the bottom of the bottle. I turned it upside-down for a few minutes and had no problem being able to get some on all of my nails! This is one coat of Spectral Pup over four (yes, four) coats of China Glaze Diva Bride. BTW, I tried soooooooo hard to get a pic of this glowing, but my camera stinks and I wasn't able to get anything good enough to post. :o(

Last, but not least is Whats This? Whats This? This polish has purple, orange, green, white and black glitter. I thought it had great coverage. I believe that this is only one coat over OPI Suzi & The 7 Dusseldorfs. I am seriously in looooooooooooooooooooooooove with this polish. I really don't have words to express how I feel. It's totally unqiue and I just love the color combo! Also, check out that awesome black square on my pointer finger! I mean where did that come from?! My only complaint is that I wasn't able to fish another one of those out of the bottle!

Overall, I am just in love with these polishes. I am currently kicking myself for not just buying the entire collection while I had the chance. :o( I mean, I have never gotten a Dollish Polish that I didn't like! Have you?!?! Overall Beauty is the best!

Hello to all of my beautiful followers! I have a short, but sweet post for you tonight. I just wanted to give a shout out to Kim from Overall Beauty! Overall Beauty is a website that sells mineral products and most importantly - indie nail polish! I have purchased twice from this site now and the shipping is always fast! But what I really wanted to mention is how Kim puts an extra special treat in your box whenever you order something! The first time I ordered from her, she put an awesome 8 sided nail buffer in the box, which has been really useful! Even my husband thinks it's amazing! A couple of weeks ago I ordered a grab bag of polish from her and in that box she put Halloween candy and a pedicure kit! Yaaay!

Isn't it cute??? All of the polish was wrapped in that cute Halloween paper too! It was just so festive and unexpected! So if you guys are ever looking for indie polish this is the place to go! You can find all of this goodness here. She also has a Facebook page if you want to keep up with what's going on!

Nail-Aween Post #10: Candy Corn Gradient

Hellooooooooo! What's everyone been up to today? I am so tired...I am ready to go to bed and it's only 8:30! Sheesh. I have felt like such an old woman since I've officially been in my late 20's. Uuuugh. Well, tonight I have my last Halloween challenge mani. I can't believe it's already done! I thought I would wait and spread the last ones out a bit more, but I have quite a few other Halloween polishes that I have swatched, so I think my blog will still be full of boo-tiful Halloween polishes for the rest of the month! ;o) The last challenge was any kind of Halloween inspired mani. I decided to do a candy corn gradient nail! I personally think candy corn is nasty, but it was a great inspiration for my last manicure. Now, please don't judge by the photos. The orange tends to look pinkish and that is not how it looked in person at all, but what my camera decided to see. :o( For the gradient I used China Glaze White On White, Sinful Colors Courtney Orange and Ulta Sun-Sational. Here ya go!

Also, please forgive the yellow in my cuticles. I did absolutely everything I could to remove the color, but my nails were stained beyond repair the day I took these photos. Also, I would like to give a big thank you to datyorkLOVES, who hosted this challenge! Make sure to check out her blog. Also, you can still go to my original challenge post to see a list of all of the participants! Check out their awesome work here.

What do you guys think???

Nail-Aween Post #8: Witch Nails

Happy Sunday! Well, you know the drill - I am sad that the weekend is almost over, but I can't wait for The Walking Dead to come on tonight!!! It's my fav! I have my 8th nail art challenge post today - witch nails! I really had a hard time trying to come up with a design for this. This was definitely the hardest one for me, so I think it turned out okay. Before you look at the photos, I do want to apologize for the stray black polish strokes. I could not see those in person, but my camera had no trouble picking them up in my pics it seems! Also, sorry for the stained fingers. I did my last 4 nail art challenges yesterday, so they are stained with every color of polish imaginable! Ugh.

BTW, the design on my pinky finger is supposed to be a poison apple.  I showed my nails to my husband and he had no clue what it was, so I thought I would clarify in case anyone was wondering! Have a great day!

Nail-Aween Post #7: Spider Nails

Happy Saaaaaaaturday! I hope you all have had a good day so far! Mine has been pretty good. I haven't done much, which is exactly what I wanted to do today! I needed a day to do nothing...and it was great! I finished doing all of the art for the nail challenge today too, so my fingers pretty much feel like they're going to fall off. Ugh. But anyway, I am excited for the rest of the challenge posts now that I have everything done! Today I have my spider nail art to show you. I used China Glaze White On White for the base and I used FingerPaints black and red nail art polish for the spiders. I found the nail art bottles at Sally Beauty Supply and they were $2.99 each - just in case you're interested!

What do you guys think?? Yaaay! 7 challenges down - only 3 to go!

Nail-Aween Post #6: Frankenstein Nails

Happy Hump day! Only two more days until the weekend! Whoop, whoop! How has everyone's week been so far? Mine has been okay. We are in the process of building a house right now, and it's not going as planned so I'm a little stressed out! Blah! But then again, that is why I have nail polish and I write my blog. It brightens my day! :o) Today I have my 6th nail art challenge - Frankenstein Nails! For the base, I used two coats of Confetti My Favorite Martian over one coat of Sinful Colors Exotic Green. For the black I used FingerPaints Black Expressionism and the white is China Glaze White on White. I have taken a few different photos in different types of lighting! Enjoy!

What a little cutie! I am just loving all of these Halloween Manis! Don't forget, if you want to see all of the manis from everyone you can find the list here.

Wet 'n Wild Fantasy Makers

Hey all! Well, it's Monday again! Booooooooooooo. How was everyone's first day back to work/school? Mine was alright. I'm going out in a little bit with all of my coworkers, so that should be pretty fun! Today, I have an extra awesome post for you! I have been looking for these little guys everywhere!!! I have Wet 'n Wild Fantasy Makers swatches. These are super awesome nail polishes in cute little bottles that are shaped like coffins. I swear - I have been to every drug store within a 10 mile radius of my apartment in the last month and have had no luck. Then, on Saturday I FINALLY found them at Ulta!!!!! AAAAHHH! The best part is that they are only $1.99 each!

First up is my favorite out of the bunch, Once Upon A Time. This is a black jelly polish with tons of red glitter! The photos are of a black base coat with one coat of Once Upon A Time over it. Yes, that is 1 one coat! The glitter payoff on this polish was fantastic and the formula was great!

The second polish is Nail In The Coffin. I layered one coat of this over a black base coat, but you really don't need a base coat for this one. This is a black jelly polish with super small glitter in it. The glitter in this is so small and so hard to see once the polish is on the nail, I really don't even know what color it is. It looks like it could be some holo glitter and possibly a little pink??? I really can't tell. The formula on this was good, the polish just didn't wow me.

The third polish is Rest In Pieces. I also layered one coat of this over a black base coat. This is a black jelly polish with purple micro glitter.  I really liked the polish because the glitter stood out in the bottle and on the nail! The formula was great too!

Aaah, I'm so happy I finally found these. Even though Nail In The Coffin didn't wow me, my search was worth it just to get Once Upon A Time. Plus, these bottles are still awesome! :o)

Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh

Hey everyone! Do you know what today is??? Yes - it's Sunday, but it's also the day of the season premiere of The Walking Dead!!! Waaah! I love Halloween and anything scary and Walking Dead is such a great show! I'm so obsessed that I even started reading The Walking Dead novel that was released recently. So, you can probably guess what polish I am wearing today! It's Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh, which was inspired by The Walking Dead TV series! This is a murky green, jelly polish filled with medium and small black hex glitter and small green and gold glitter. I just looove this polish! I tried to to find this on the Dollish Polish website for months, but could never get my hands on it. Finally one day I went to Overall Beauty and I just happened to see they had it in stock! Of course, I freaked out for a minute and then snatched it right up! So here you go...way too many pics of Zombie Flesh!

Aaaah. I just love it! What do you guys think??? BTW, this polish usually retails for $8.75 for a regular sized bottle.
